A good crowd gathered to witness a strong offering at the 2010 Northwest Breeders Female Sale. Cattle sold to four states with active demand for pairs and top end 2009 heifers. Although the quantity was down, the quality was up. The semen topped at $275 per unit on 5 units of N Bar Emulation EXT going to Bobo Cattle Co., Othello, WA and 5 units of Connealy Onward going to C Bar D Angus, Sandy, OR. Indeed a job well done by all involved.

Following the 2010 Northwest Breeders Sale, Lynn & Lyleen Pope of Pope Ranches, Merrill, OR held their Mature Cowherd Dispersion. The offering was as uniform as you’ll ever find and the market was the same throughout. No extreme tops but solid & steady from the beginning to the end. Twenty six percent of the offering were born in 2002 and earlier. The offering was as gentle as you’ll ever find and sold at a rapid fire pace to buyers from Washington, Oregon and Idaho. Volume buyer honors went to Stafford Ranches, Prineville, OR taking 108 pairs. Indeed a grand tribute to a herd that has been producing quality Angus for 71 years. Certainly a job well done by all.

A beautiful spring date greeted an excellent crowd to the inaugural Gathering female sale. The contributors had the cattle very well presented and in top condition. Cattle sold at a rapid fire pace to buyers from six states. Good support was evident from California breeders. David Holden, Sale Chairman, along with his fellow consignors must be commended on a job very well done from beginning to end. Plans are in the mill to make the 2011 Gathering even bigger & better.

A strong event from beginning to end. A highlight of the day was the total dispersion sale of the Cal Poly program, Pomona, CA. Cattle sold at a rapid fire pace to 42 buyers. Strong demand for spring pairs. Semen topped at $150 per unit for four units of B/ R New Design 036 selling to L&N Angus, Lodi, CA. The cattle were very well presented and strong in quality throughout. Volume buyers included Gary Silva, Herald, CA; Reeser Bros, San Jose, CA; Foard Family Trust, Oakdale, CA; Frank Rico, Gustine, CA and Silvera Bros, Firebaugh, CA. All involved must be commended on the quality and presentation. A super sale on a beautiful May day in the central valley.
