Fresh snow blanketed the Magic Valley on a cool sale day. Folks gathered from a six state area to witness a rapid fire event averaging $200 per lot over the 2008 event. Calving ease bulls were in strong demand. Volume buyers included Harris Beef and Peavey – Hoots with 11 and 10 respectively. Cattle sold into four states. The Hoopers & Kinders of TLC Ranch; The Kasts of 101 Ranch and the Kohn-topps of Sugar Top Angus had the hospitality sold out as usual. A job well done.

A packed house with buyers on the seats from six states to witness the final chapter of John Dimke’s Angus program that he spent 25 years in building. Strong demand in the bull calf pairs. Cattle and semen sold to 49 buyers from 10 states. The semen topped at $325 per unit on “6807” going to JR Ranch, Othello, WA. Volume buying honors were captured by JR Ranch, Othello, WA; BoBo Cattle Co., Othello, WA; and Mark Appleford, Anatone, WA. The offering was a very uniform, well presented herd. The hospitality put forth by the Dimke family was indeed top notch. A tremendous tribute to a very well respected program.
