2009 National Junior Angus Show
 
 
Junior Angus enthusiasts from across the United States traveled to Perry, GA., to compete for top honors at the 2009 National Junior Angus Show (NJAS), July 19-25 at the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter. National Junior Angus Association (NJAA) members exhibited 854 entries during the four days of cattle shows and also competed in numerous contests ranging from livestock judging and team sales to photography and graphic design.

Bill Conley, Clarksdale, MO., evaluated the 514 owned females. Frank Jackson, Sanborn, MN., judged the 193 bred-and-owned females, 47 bred-and-owned bulls, 27 owned cow-calf pairs and 11 bred-and-owned cow-calf pairs. Brandon Callis, College Station, TX., judged the 44 steers before naming champions. Another 18 steers competed in the carcass contest, which was conducted live this year, with the use of ultrasound technology.
