Cattle sold to a large group of repeat customers with Sequoia Ranch, Three Rivers, CA capturing the volume buyer honors. The hospitality put forth by these two firms was indeed top of the line. Indeed a super day for two top programs, a job well done by all.

A rapid fire event on a hot day. The spring yearlings saw strong demand. One of the most solid buyer bases you’ll find at any sale. Cattle very well presented, hospitality excellent. Dinner on Thursday night very well attended. Volume buyer went to Boston Ranch, Exeter, CA taking 16 lots. A grand tribute to one of the pioneer performance herds in the industry. Bill, Kevin, Eric, Bryce and all the Borror Family must be commended on a job well done.

The largest crowd for years gathered to witness the Oak Ridge Angus Ranch’s 30th Annual Sale. Bulls sold at a very rapid pace with many times four to five bidders on the lots. Very aggressive bidding from the beginning to the end. The weather was overcast, cool with a few raindrops falling in the Valley. The hospitality was superb. Cheryl & Frank Mongini along with Eric La Franchi and family had everything in order. Indeed a super day for a quality historic program. A job extremely well done.

When I left the sale my car thermometer read 100º, the sale barn had to be 10 - 15º hotter and the sale itself was another 100º hotter yet. Truly a super event for Vintage. Big, big crowd of the who’s who in the commercial business. Bulls very well presented and sold as fast as you could open the gates. Jim & Sue Coleman were again superior hosts and Doug Worthington, Brad Worthington, & Jason Judge had everything in order for a very professional smooth running event. Indeed a super event for a super breeding program. The only thing you would change, would be to add a couple fans to move that hot, hot air around.

A beautiful fall day greeted a modest size crowd to “The Event” for 2009. Cattle sold at modest prices to buyers from three states. A nice turnout of Junior members bid actively on the show prospects. Junior members Hannah Gnech, Macdoel, CA and Dayton Stafford, Prineville, OR were the winners of sets of animal clippers. All other juniors in attendance received a nylon halter. Pie & ice cream were a big hit after the sale. The event hosted by Chase Classic Angus, Powell Butte, OR; Finch Angus, Warden, WA, and guest consignor, Barry Angus, Madras, OR had everything in top order. Many good buys were made throughout the day.
