A large crowd gathered on a very nice calm day. Many good buys were made throughout the day. The offering in all breeds was well presented with active demand on the top end. Female activity was active from beginning to end. History was made with the first Durham Reds to be sold at auction. The hospitality was at a high level and the Jeff and Roger Schmidt Families and the Myles Tellefson Family must be commended on a job well done. As time goes on, those who took pieces of these programs home will learn that the tremendous genetics they received will be rewarding.

Over 340 folks passed through the lunch line at this Presidents Day event. Cattle sold at a rapid fire pace to forty-eight buyers from seven states. The cattle were presented in super condition. Nine firms took between five and ten bulls. Strong demand for the fall yearlings. Indeed the hospitality was at the usual high Holiday level. Hal and Lois Schudel must be commended on the super job they and their crew of Scott Downing, Manager and Tom Hill, Marketing have done. The addition of Express Ranches was very well received. Indeed a must attend event in the state of Oregon. Everything is in top order. A fun day for everyone. Our hats are off to Holiday and Express for such a super event.

Two hundred sixty one bulls entered the ring and all two hundred sixty one bulls found new homes. No extreme top prices - just steady as you go as a record was set as 98 bulls sold to Dwight Mebane, Woody, CA, plus ten bulls or more sold to the TS Ranch, Battle Mountain, NV; Bob Cockrell, Cedarville, CA; Craig Spratling, Deeth, NV; RO Cattle Co., Austin, NV; Demar Dahl, Fallon, NV; and Dave Stix, Fernley, NV. Cattle sold at a rapid fire pace to 74 buyers from nine states. The cattle were presented in super condition. The hospitality was at its usual high level. The 160 commercial open heifers topped at $1,095 with Heath Miller, Washington, UT taking 75 and Dwight Mebane, Woody, CA taking 80 head. The horse offering topped at $10,000 on Browns Sugar Delight, a 2001 mare sired by Loan Roan Wolf selling to Terry Edgmon, Fallon, NV. Certainly a super day for Hutchings Cattle Company on their 10th Anniversary Sale. Guest consignments on the cattle came from the Pheasant Trek, Wilton, CA and the horses from the Pitzer Ranch, Erickson, NE. The special custom saddle drawing to a lucky buyer was won by Dwight Mebane, Woody, CA. Indeed a job well done by the Hutchings family and the entire Hutchings crew.
