WNAF Donation Heifer
 
 
Hutchings Martha 6814, an Angus heifer was donated by Hutchings Cattle Co., Rich and Gary Hutchings, Fallon, NV to the Western States Angus Auxiliary. The female, a daughter of LAU Decade was selected from the heart of their herd and represented the high quality of Angus cattle that sell at their Black Attack Bull and Female sale held annually on the 3rd weekend of February in Fallon, Nevada.

Included with the sale of the heifer was a flush provided by the Pat Richards DVM embryo transfer service of Bliss, Idaho.

The heifer and flush package was sold at the 55th Western National Angus Futurity in Reno, Nevada with proceeds to be used for Western States Angus Auxiliary scholarships and awards. The Auxiliary provides educational scholarships, Western States Angus Queen travel expenses, Western Regional Junior Angus show awards and outstanding 4-H, FFA or Youth Angus project awards at county fairs in the Western states of CA, NV, ID, OR, WA and HI.

The heifer was purchased by Progressive Angus Breeders representing seven different states.

The Western States Angus Auxiliary Scholarship Donation heifer and flush sold for $5,000 and was donated back for resale. The heifer was then purchased by TLC Angus, Bliss, ID; Fraser and Coupe Angus, Burns, OR and Steward Angus, Hillsboro, OR for $2,200 bringing in a total of $7,200.
