These women were elected to serve as American Angus Auxiliary officers at the 2007 Auxiliary Annual Meeting held November 10 in Louisville, KY. Danielle Foster, Niles, MI., was crowned the 2008 Miss American Angus. Danielle, the daughter of Elaine and Scott Foster, will represent the Angus breed at numerous beef industry events during her reign. The American Angus Auxiliary sponsors the Miss American Angus contest, held annually at the NAILE. Five college freshmen compete for the honor after winning the Auxiliary’s top five scholarships at the National Junior Angus Show earlier in the year. The competition includes a written quiz, an interview and public speaking before a panel of three judges. Danielle is the 40th Miss American Angus, and will travel the country as an ambassador for the breed.
