This “joint is
jumping” sure would fit what’s happening in our offices right now!
The entries are in and we’re working at a rapid fire pace to pull
the program together and get everything in order for the big show.
The big show of course being the Western National Angus Futurity
and Western Regional Junior Heifer Show at the end of the month on
April 28th, 29th and 30th in Reno Nevada. While I don’t have an
exact count on the entries at this point, I can tell you we’re
either right at last year’s numbers or over a few, and we’ve got
juniors heading to Reno from 15 states, definitely the excitement
is building.
How many of you are
aware that the Western National Angus Futurity is the third
largest Angus show in the nation? When we arrived at this year’s
theme “It All Happens Here” we didn’t realize then, that the
weekend we are in Reno, everything is happening, consequently
hotel space has been difficult to nail down. It is my
understanding that the Nugget Hotel is over full occupancy on
April 28th. Hotel management wants us to pass it on that if you’re
not booked for that evening and have you have rooms in the hotel
for other nights that you will need to plan on finding some other
accommodations for the night of the 28th. We can make some
alternative recommendations, so give us a call and don’t find
yourselves with a bedroom on that Saturday evening.
Once again we’re back
in the big arena and the cattle will be housed in there as well.
Having the big arena adds a special edge to the show and makes a
grand showcase for the cattle. We still have a few trophy
sponsorships available, these are a great way to support the show
and get some air time for your ranch and program, if you’re
interested in a trophy sponsorship call our office today and we
can get you signed up. Another tremendous way to support the show
is to purchase the Drawdown tickets, they’re one of the best ways
to beat the odds in the casino and write it off at the same time.
The Showgirl Revue sale
will once again take place this year after the female show, and I
can assure you that once again it will be the spot to pick up some
of those hard to find genetics and great individuals. I want to
once again invite everyone to be in attendance and for those with
your travel plans already geared for Reno, have a safe trip and
